New Paragraph

PCPeds is pleased to welcome you and your child to our practice, and we look forward to getting to know your family! Below you will find our new patient process. If you have any questions, please give us a call, 816-412-2900.

How Do I Become a New Patient?

  • Book your first appointment either by calling or online (coming soon)!
  • Request any records from your prior physician.
  • Please Note: We will need your records at least 48 hours prior to your appointment in order to review them for medications and complex issues.

Before Your Appointment

A pre-registration link will be sent to you to complete before your appointment.

Please try to complete your check in prior to arriving in our office. This will save you time when you arrive. If you do not complete it, plan on being at the office at least 20 minutes before your appointment to complete the required paperwork.

What to bring to every appointment:

  • Photo ID – This is for your child’s safety and is required per government regulations.
  • Current Insurance Card
  • Any applicable copayments, fees and/or outstanding balances (this includes balances from other children seen in our offices.)
  • We may require a credit card to be kept on file.

Other important information:

  • A parent or legal guardian must be at the first visit.
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
  • If this is for a newborn visit, we understand you may not have insurance for your child yet and we will review your options during the check-in process the day of your visit.

What to Expect When You Arrive

If you have not completed your check in prior to your arrival you will be asked to complete it on the kiosks available in the office.

Once you are checked in, a nurse will come and take you to an exam room where they will review your child's medical history, family history and social history.

Once the nurse is done then the doctor will be in to see you and your child.

Our Goal Is To Provide The Best Medical Care

To do this successfully, we must be able to review all of your medical records from all providers that you have seen. It is our policy to receive your previous medical records before we can assume care and schedule an appointment.

For Newborns:

Bringing a newborn to a new pediatric practice can be a prudent decision to ensure comprehensive care and support for your child's lifelong health. It allows for establishing a rapport with the healthcare providers early on, fostering a sense of familiarity and trust crucial for ongoing care.

For New Families Transferring to Us:

When transferring a child to a new pediatric practice, it's essential to gather and organize all medical records, including vaccination records and any relevant test results. Communicate with both the current and new pediatric practices to ensure a smooth transition of care, providing necessary information about the child's medical history and ongoing treatments.

Other Important Information

For future visits, you may designate specific individuals who are allowed to bring your child for care or ask medical questions on your behalf.

Only people listed as approved caregivers in your child's record will be permitted to do so, in order to protect your family's privacy and maintain medical confidentiality.
